Stupid rain

I find it a little funny that on Easter sunday all I've done all night is listen to black metal.

10 days until I leave for Turkey. Bomb.

Pleasant surprise.

So I had a cheap camera I got for free a year or so ago. It never really worked well, I only really used it to take pictures when I sold stuff online. I kinda wanted to use it for when I get to travel. Of course it stopped working a week or so ago and I couldn't get it going again. I think I might've mentioned it to my girlfriend once that I wanted to buy a new camera.

I came home wednesday to a mysterious box and envelope from the bestbuy return center...I assumed my brother ordered something but he said it was for me. So I opened it up to find a brand new camera and even a new memory card. My girlfriend (who also happens to be on the other side of the world at the moment) bought this for me and had it shipped to me. What a surprise! Gotta keep that girl!

I was trying to sell my stingray but I haven't been having much luck. I ended up moving him to a bigger tank so I can sell the smaller one. Now that he is in there, he is much more active and shows a really interesting pattern so I might end up keeping him.

I retuned my guitar to standard tuning (it was detuned to C# so I can play death metal). Mostly because I've been in a Steve Vai mood. All I used to do when I was in high school was try and play his songs. Now that I'm good enough, I'm trying to go back and learn a few all the way through. It certainly isn't easy but I like the challenge.

I'm trying this song, but I've tried it a few times before and only got about halfway through....the part at 2:42 is just not fair :(

April can't come soon enough

I can't wait for April 14th...because its my next trip. 10pm and I'll be off for Turkey. Annie and I are going to have the bombest spring break vacation ever. A romp around Ankara, some istanbul action and then some trouble in transylvania. Hungary might get thrown in there too. I'm never been to Europe so I'm excited and 3 weeks is a good long trip to relax and have a good time. Now I just have to find my passport...

I got my Nicaraguan cichlids and they look better than I had thought.

Went to a nice metal show last night. There were 11 or so bands...but we only saw 4. They started everything super early and everyone was pissed, usually you can show up at 8 and still see 4 bands but the 3rd headliner was starting at 730. I was not happy to walk in at 7:40 to Suffocation already playing. Oh well, at least I got to see them for the most part. Brutal as all hell, I could watch them all day.

Spike and I ran upstairs during Suffocation's last song to see Lightning Swords of Death and grab some beers. It wasn't lightning swords of death...it ended up being Septic Flesh. I was happy though because I thought they were going to be the first band to play since they aren't a huge name. They were actually kinda cool. Apparently they are very into ancient culture and worship Anubis or something but it was interesting none-the-less.

Behemoth was great. So fast, so accurate so intense. They played Slaves Shall Serve and it seemed even faster than on the cd.

Devildriver came on and we left. But seriously, after seeing suffocation and behemoth, why would anyone stay for Devildriver?! It's like seeing a horror movie, then seeing Avatar in 3D then afterwards you can see the little mermaid.... uhh, no thanks I'll just head home and grab some mcdonalds.

Well, I've got almost all my fish accounted for, except the ray.

As I started breaking down my tank I decided to keep my big tank. I think I'll order a nice pair of central american cichlids and just have them be my centerpiece. I've always wanted to have a nice big pair of cichlids to breed.

I'm thinking about nicaraguan cichlids... like these



Edit: I ordered a pair from the best guy in the country...I should get them wednesday morning. I'm curious to see how they look, I've seen many very different pictures and none seem to be the same.

I'll post some pictures of my pair thursday or friday when they are settled in.

Hmmm...

I'm OUT!! I've decided I'm going to get out of fishkeeping for now. I just posted all my fish on a few websites. After I get them sold I can sell tanks, filters, etc. I also put up a few guitars...the ones I don't use.

The cash will be good but its mostly because I've become bored with everything. I need a big change and after I get rid of this stuff I feel like I'll be able to do something new. Most likely this means moving somewhere. I have no idea where but I've been here far too long. I've been tied down by all this stuff and I knew it but it's gotten to the point where I need to go.

Now I need to work on possible locations/life choices.

Since I'm seemingly going to have much more free time on my hands (at least at night) I decided to start this up again.

Going to be working 6-7 days a week and playing guitar all night...pretty much back to my early fall schedule.

I'm finally admitting I'm addicted to energy drinks. Its not even because of the taste or kick. I started doing it so I could get my hands warmed up faster for playing guitar and now I can't play guitar without one. Plus when you are trying to play necrophagist, I feel like you shouldn't be able to play that without some help from satan or at least a monster energy drink.
